My love affair with the British Shothair Cats started in the summer of 2003. At the time I was writing my M.A. Thesis. The vision of burning the midnight oil by the computer, covered with piles of books and papers, did not put me in a cheerful mood. I decided to motivate myself a little. Since my beloved 13-year-old dog had passed away, I had been thinking of finding a new pet friend. And that is how the idea of adopting a pedigree cat arose in my mind. This was going to be a perfect reward for my hard work. I’ve always been a great lover of animals and there have always been cats at my home. That’s why the vision of having a pedigree beauty gave me a boost.

During the breakes in writing I was surfing the net in search of the information about different cat breeds and their descriptions as well as lists of breeders. Finally, the decision was reached – the British Shorthair Cat! It just turned out that both its personality and appearace matched my expectations of an ideal cat.

And that’s what happend. A day after the successful defence of my master’s thesis – on 26th September 2003 – a tiny blue ball with a serious name – Gloria Gratka Clan – appeared in our flat. Thanks to her I’ve fallen in love with the British Cats, I’ve met many interesting people and learned a lot.

Hence, the idea of starting a cattery emerged naturally. I just could not imagine a different scenario. But I still remember that apart from the unquestionable joy of having sweet kittens, it’s also hard work and great responsibility for the well-being of these little, innocent creatures. I’m going to do my best to produce quality kittens with lovely personalities so that they could proudly represent their breed. I hope my dreams will come true.
